Founded in 1929 by Beman and Bertie Dawes, the arboretum encompasses nearly 1,650 acres. Extensive collections include conifers, hollies, crab apples, oaks, witch hazel, rhododendrons and azalea. Garden areas include: Bird-watching garden, All Seasons Garden, Bertie’s Borders, Cutler Garden and Herb Garden.
