Long Island, New York

Located on two acres on the south shore of eastern Long Island, Madoo (derived from an old Scottish word meaning "my dove") is the garden of artist Robert Dash. The New York Times called Madoo "Robert Dash's ever-changing masterpiece." Begun in 1967, the garden’s fundamental tenant has always been that “plants are the dominating forms, structures are secondary.” Open Wednesday and Saturday from May until the end of September.
