Cleveland Botanical Garden

Unlike other botanical gardens with conservatories that display plants from all regions, The Eleanor Armstrong Smith Glasshouse in Cleveland Botanical Garden’s focuses on two fragile and diverse ecosystems: the spiny desert of Madagascar and the butterfly-filled rainforest of Costa Rica. This 18,000 square foot conservatory has more than 350 species of plants and more than 50 species of butterflies, insects, birds, reptiles and amphibians. The rest of the ten acres of gardens include the Hershey Children's Garden, the Elizabeth and Nona Evans Restorative Garden, the David and Paula Swetland Topiary Garden, the Western Reserve Herb Society Garden, the Japanese Garden, the Sears-Swetland Rose Garden, the Ohio Woodland, the C.K. "Pat" Patrick Perennial Border, and the public Campsey-Stauffer Gateway Garden.Photo: The Rainforest of Costa Rica, The Eleanor Armstrong Smith Glasshouse [ info ]
