Atlanta, Georgia

Ramble through 33 acres of Atlanta's horticultural past. The 1928 Swan House and its formal gardens were created by architect Philip Trammell. The Tullie Smith Farm Gardens feature heirloom fruit trees, native grapes, vegetables and herbs, corn, cotton, perennials, and annuals found on a typical yeomen farm in Antebellum Georgia. The three-acre Quarry Garden features more than 300 plant species native to pre-settlement Georgia, including the rare Franklinia tree. Other features include the half-mile Swan Woods Trail Walk that leads through ten acres of forest, the Asian American Garden, and the Rhodendron Garden. [ info ]
