|
The historic seaside garden made famous by poet Celia Thaxter’s 1894 memoir, An Island Garden, is open to the public every Wednesday, weather permitting, from June 22 through August 31. Due to the fragile ecosystem of Appledore Island, tour size is limited to 50 passengers. Access to the island is via ferry. Reservations through the Shoals Marine Laboratory of Cornell University are required.
